Ah, it's nice to get back to class. I hadn't been since April! It's my goal to get back into the habit of going. I really enjoy it so...excuses out the window.

Pheww, felt pretty good about class today. I was sooooooooooo tired so I wasn't gonna go but then decided I should because I had been making excuses and haven't actually been in a month and a half. So it's good to get back into it, I love the class.

So, here's a little update on the ladies.
Each face was individually painted. I created three face templates.(closed eyes, mid-open eyes, and wide open eyes) They were painted with acrylic and sealed with matte varnish.

They look like little ladies in a sleeping bag.

They are starting to take form. Now they just need hoods.

The finished product!!! YAY! Well, 13/37 at least. They are tagged and ready to go.

Russian Doll change purse

So, I was doodling and started drawing Nesting dolls....then got to thinking, they would make kinda cute change purses or something so I dug out some fabric and such and drew up some faces and these little guys(or should I say 'ladies') are comming quite along. I need to finish painting the faces and then seal them, order some zippers, and pick out cute trim and throw it all together. Let me know what you guys think.

An up date of these will be comming around in a few.

Also, last Friday work was a little slow...so I made a whole colony of brontos.

Ok, howdy. Uh, I've never really posted anything from class (mostly cuz it's kinda embarassing and not where I would like them to be) But, I dunno I got a bug in me and I thought maybe it would be nice to post.
Also, if anyone has tips and stuff about anatomy and gesture stuff I can (obviously) use all the help I can get. So, please help me. heh. ^__^

Well I got the body part of the costume done for Aubs for Halloween but I still have Ahsoka's head piece to figure out. Here's the costume though. I haven't made a costume in a long time. I forgot how much fun it is to create patterns and figure out decent alternative materials to create the replica of costume and accesory. Ah, good times making costumes. I'll let you know how that head piece works out.

Misc. projects and things I'm into lately...shrug

I have this crazy right hand that has to always be doing something. In between classes, breaks and sometimes church I've been drawing "wallpaper" characters. First were the monkeys as I have posted earlier, then came the coneheads and most recently 'Phone Pig'. Phone pig will also be featured in this weeks IF. (It can't be helped, there's an inner pig that must come out and call. ^___^)

Ever so often I get this indispensable feeling in my gut to cut paper. I haven't learned to control it. I've basically come to recognise this feeling as the 'artsy, craftsy, cutsy, pastey' feeling, aka, make cards or bind books or something of the sort. So, since I was out, I made a few cards.

I'm working on getting together a book that contains a story my Grandpa told us when we where kids. It's a postish World War II story that it kinda turned into a childrens book that I'm creating online. Anyhoo, I'm still nudging it around and am still working on thummies but I drew out a few sketches of the style I want to try to go for and the medium (charcoal on brown and tope paper) but...we'll see, but here's a few doodles from that.

I've got ideas rolling a bit but need the time to make them heh...that and I'm just developing character so I'm still not drawing them so easily, well, or consistenty but that's what I'm doing all this for,...practice. I'm making little goals and things for myself so that I can really get out of my rut of not getting things done that I want to do. I have a goal to keep making mini comics though. I have a ton of other little projects inbetween and what not but I'll get to more comics for sure. Despite that the poor people at the copier place down the street I'm sure hate me. I'm reminded everytime I have other people do work for me how anal and perfectionistic I am. The man at the copier would print me one then show it do me to see if it's ok. Needless to say on three different occations I got a rag and scrubbed down the dang glass on the machine myself. Honestly though If I'm gonna pay for it it better look good. It's my presentation and it represents me, only a handful of people will see this but I want to know it was a good representation of me ya know. Anyhoo they are very patient with me, despite my anal qualities and lack of Japanese. Whelp, this is my first official mini comic, actually bound up and ready. *Synically laughs* My BFA didn't even get that. *Hides in shame*.

Next on the goals:

-Draw persimmons and paint them
-Mock-up Mucha faux advertisment for Takada Sakura Matsuri 2009

OK, so I have a blog where I post blogly-like things, (for me that mainly means stuff about Japan and pictures and such from where I live). But his is just for my creative outlet. I felt bad putting my creative outburst onto my other blog because my family and friends are avaliable to read that. Not that I don't want them to read this. I just need to keep the clutter seperate. Creativity deserves it's own blog. So yeah, anyhoo. Here it is. BTW: I don't have a scanner which means the quality of stuff on here will be bad most likely. I may look into getting a scanner if I think I'll be here for awhile. Which I'm think yeah I will. BUUUUTTTttttt, I gotta save up and we'll see how it all rolls ya know. I'd like to stay in Japan for a couple years since I'm here. Which in that case I might as well invest in a scanner. Anyhoo. That's all. I really kinda want to make a book. It's my little secret. I say this as if I don't have a billion of these already.
